OUR THOUGHTS GO OUT TO OUR FRIENDS IN NEPAL

As you will know by now a devastating earthquake hit Kathmandu, Nepal and its surrounding communities this weekend.

Aveda has partnered with the Himalayan Bio-Trade (HBTL) papermaking cooperative in Nepal for more than seven years to purchase the lokta bark paper that dresses its pre-wrapped gift sets across the world, and has become close friends with the community over this time.

Aveda has responded immediately to this devastating news and has today directed a $20,000 grant via Global Greengrants Fund to provide urgently-needed disaster relief funding to support ANSAB (Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources) who is on the ground in Nepal. This group has worked hand in hand with Himalayan Bio-Trade (HBTL) papermaking cooperative in Nepal.

We are keeping in close contact with our advisors, who have shared that they believe that our friends in Kathmandu are safe.  We will share details as we learn more.
